WEEK 3
HEAVEN IN MY COURAGE

Sheep Among Wolves

Jesus never hid the cost.
He didn’t promise applause.
 He didn’t promise comfort.
 He didn’t promise quick results.
He told them the truth.
It won’t always be easy, and some won’t understand.
Some won’t respond. Some may reject you.
But you are not alone.
Heaven is worth the risk.

Matthew 10:16–22

“I am sending you out like sheep among wolves. Therefore, be as shrewd as snakes and as innocent as doves. Be on your guard; you will be handed over to the local councils and be flogged in the synagogues. On my account, you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles. But when they arrest you, do not worry about what to say or how to say it. At that time, you will be given what to say, for it will not be you speaking, but the Spirit of your Father speaking through you.
“Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

There is something steady about Jesus in this passage.
He doesn’t hype them up.
He doesn’t minimize reality.
He prepares them.

“Like sheep among wolves.”
That sounds vulnerable.

But sheep are never sent alone.
They are sent by a Shepherd.
Courage in the Kingdom isn’t loud bravado.
It’s quiet obedience.
It’s choosing faithfulness over comfort.
It’s choosing clarity over avoidance.

Heaven in your hands doesn’t mean you control outcomes.
It means you carry responsibility.

You are responsible for obedience.
God is responsible for the results.
Rejection isn’t failure.
Silence isn’t wasted.
Seeds don’t sprout the moment they’re planted.

Sometimes courage looks like:

  • Saying the name of Jesus out loud.

  • Asking a real question.

  • Sharing truth kindly but clearly.

  • Not backing down when the moment feels awkward.

Heaven moves through willing hearts, not guaranteed responses.

Sit honestly with these questions:

  • What am I afraid of?

  • Am I more afraid of awkwardness… or someone missing Jesus?

  • Have I been avoiding a spiritual conversation?

  • Is there a nudge from the Holy Spirit I’ve been delaying?

Fear often disguises itself as “not the right time," but obedience often feels like stepping forward before you feel ready.

What would obedience look like this week?

Maybe it’s following up after Easter.
Maybe it’s circling back to something they said.
Maybe it’s asking one honest question.

Write down or just reflect on what you feel prompted to do.

God, make me bold — not harsh, but brave.
Help me not shrink back when the moment comes.
Remind me that rejection isn’t failure.
Teach me to measure faithfulness, not results.
Stay with me in the tension.
Give me words when I don’t know what to say.
Make me steady like You.

Amen.

Share Your Story & Invite Again.

This is the courage step.

This week:

👉 Share one part of your story with your "One". Tell them why Jesus matters to you.

It can be simple:
“Can I tell you what God’s done in my life?”
“Jesus changed this for me…”

👉 Follow up this conversation with another invite to Easter.

Write them a card or a nice text and send it out with a “thank you for letting me share some of my story” and “If you’re free, I really would LOVE for you to come to Easter service with me.”

You are not the Savior.
You are the witness.

Obedience is your part. The results you can leave to God. Step forward- not because it’s easy, but because someone else’s eternity matters.

Sometimes heaven moves, not through a sermon, but through someone who says, “Let me tell you what Jesus did for me.”
