All Will Be Restored

By Noah Young | Worship Leader

Weeks ago, I shared the song ‘Fight Anymore’ by For All Seasons with our High School and Junior High ministries. At the time I had no idea how fitting it would be for the state we find our country in today. The lyrics to the chorus are as follows:
“God I need to know there will be a day
I won’t have to fight anymore
These chains are gonna fall
The heavy hurt I’ve carried will be healed once and for all
When the struggle finally ends, when eternity begins
All my brokenness will be restored
I won’t have to fight anymore”
Between the stories we see on the news and the posts we read on social media, it can be easy to feel like our world, nation, and us as individuals are anything but “healed” or “restored”. We see widespread poverty, hate, division, sickness, and fear. We know this isn’t how life is suppose to be and Paul knew it too when he wrote this to the church in Corinth:
“We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.” 2 Corinthians 5:2
As long as we exist in our “present bodies” we will be prone to fighting, hatred, illness, and every type of sin. However, as Christians we have hope to hold onto. We have hope that as we remain in Jesus, He will produce “good fruit” in us and through us (John 15:5). We can trust that as we resist sin and allow God to renew our minds, we will have a clearer understanding of what His “good, pleasing, and perfect will” is (Romans 12:2). Finally, we can look forward to the day where God will “wipe every tear” and restore all things to Himself (Revelation 7:17).
