Pastor Mark Lee came from the Evangelical Free Church of Diamond Bar, where he had started a brand new young adult ministry. In 2003, Pastor Mark was first introduced to Eastvale after seeing many of his own people, move out to the area, and that’s when he began to pray. There was not only tremendous potential, but also a tremendous need for new churches.
Pastor Mark and the founding team at VantagePoint Church began to seek God’s heart by asking Him a question: Can a group of people doing simple acts of kindness in the name of Jesus really change the life of an entire community? They envisioned a church that didn’t simply gather for Sunday worship, but one that would mobilize itself and truly become a missions outpost in the life of the Eastvale community.
Since its beginning, VantagePoint Church has passed out over 20,000 bottles of water, washed cars, painted local schools, fed the homeless, bought down the price of gas, put on free annual events such as the Easter Egg Hunt and Trunk or Treat, and even took down Christmas lights on local houses. All of this just to show God’s love in tangible ways. Mark Lee was honored in 2008 as EFCA Church Planter of the Year at the EFCA Leadership Conference in St. Louis.
